Technical development for SIL is ongoing and guided by the SIL User Group, SIL technical management group, bureau and breeder interaction, specialist support and industry recommendations.
Current technical priorities are:
- Revision of indexes for Growth & Meat (carcass merit)
- eSearch, a web-based search tool for SIL-ACE
- Introduction of BV accuracies
